Snowfest 2008

We have had some pretty unbelievable snowfall over the past 36 hours. I believe this snowfall is the largest amount ever received in a 24 hour period in Spokane since they've been keeping records. Niko wouldn't pee outside, so I had to dig her a snow latrine in the back yard with a tunnel that connected it to the house. I also needed to shovel the driveway three times yesterday. I measured 18 inches of snow before I went to bed last night. This morning the grand total was over two feet. I was able to borrow our neighbor's snow blower to take care of the driveway. However, we aren't getting anywhere. Four wheel drive vehicles are getting stuck all over town. It will probably take several days for the snowplows to take care of side streets like ours. Mac really doesn't know quite what to think about all of the snow. He was quite concerned when I was clearing off the driveway with the snow blower. Apparently, he kept saying "Daddy help outside, Daddy help outside." It took about an hour of me being back inside before he relaxed again and started to play. It's a really good snow day. No need to worry. We have plenty of supplies and are nice and warm. Tine is making Christmas cookies and we're sitting by the fire staying nice and cozy.

Wow! Yagermeister snow cones are awesome. (sorry, Tine!)

We had snow like this is WDC in the early 90s. You had to plow your way out of the house, but it was a fun, winter wonderland for a few days. Maddie would only go three feet from the front door! Glad to hear you're in front of the fire. Enjoy!
